A commission for a couple’s anniversary, January 2019.

I was recently commissioned to paint this portrait for an anniversary present. I started with a great photo they took while on vacation, and developed what you see here. The original image really spoke to me. I saw 2 vibrant young people, happy to be close, as they looked out over the vast city just beyond the river. One seems to be looking ahead, and the other, happily watchful for any development that might lead them somewhere even more exciting. I am pleased to report that the gift was well-received.
